OVERVIEW ON THE PHILIPPINE PUBLIC SAFETY COLLEGE
1. What is PPSC?
The Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) is the premier educational institution for the training, human resource development and continuing education of the police, fire and jail personnel (Section 66 of RA 6975). (Organizational Structure - Appendix A)
2. What makes it different from other Colleges?
As an educational and training institution, the PPSC offers mandatory training programs and specialized/technical courses to the uniformed personnel of the DILG geared towards public safety.
3. Why is the PPSC virtually the NDCP, AFPTRACOMs (nationwide) and AFPJSGSC rolled into
one?
The PPSC System’s multifaceted education and training programs adapted major qualities of NDCP, PMA, AFPTRACOMS (nationwide) and AFPJSGSC - virtually rendering the PPSC System one unique primus quantum meruit.
4. What difference can the PPSC make in fulfilling its mission?
The PPSC System continues to develop quality and skills-based training programs and simultaneously institutes total quality management procedures, re-engineering of systems and embraces a leadership by example concept.
5. How is the PPSC differentiating public safety services’ “service-orientation” culture from
the military’s “mission-oriented” culture?
The PPSC produces uniformed personnel that are civilian in character as embodied in the Curriculum and Programs of Instruction and Organizational Structure as well.
