Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) President Atty. Ruben R. Platon was the guest of honor and speaker during the joint graduation ceremonies of the Public Safety Junior Leadership Course (PSJLC) Classes 2012-01Alpha and Bravo held on July 27, 2012 at the PPSC Regional Training School (RTS-11), Mintal, Davao City.
In his speech, President Platon challenged each one of the graduate to be the model policeman so that the children and the youth of the community will emulate the good deeds they are going to exemplify. That is the trait of an ideal policeman that the community is longing for. "Strive hard to do good things that can keep the people closer to the police", the president said.
"Be of service to everyone and keep your commitment fulfilled and always do the extra mile to serve the community". "Make every sincere effort to win the admiration and respect of the community. Do not oppress the people especially the poor and the powerless. Be sensitive to their plight and misery. They need your helping hand. They need your attention. They need your compassion" the president added.
In parting, President Platon encouraged the graduating classes to work hand in hand in partnership to win the hearts and minds of the people. "We must begin to reach out with them. Work doubly hard. Touch their hearts. Make an impact to their lives". Be the model policeman in your community. That is my message to you.
Joining President Platon during the graduation were the faculty and training staff of the RTS 11 led by its Regional Training Director, Police Superintendent Eric Dampal.
