Public Safety Officer Senior Executive Course Class
Twenty four (24) police students of the Public Safety Officer Senior Executive Course Class 2009-70 attended a 5 day seminar at the United States, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Los Angeles Field Office, California from July 13-17, 2009. The trip personally shouldered by the officers is the culminating activity prior to the completion of the 8 month mandatory course for senior officers of the Philippine National Police. The regular event hosted by the FBI Los Angeles field office introduced the participants on FBI organizational functions, overseas response, latest trends on investigating terrorism both domestic and international. Topics include human trafficking, bomb incident overview, cyber crimes, evidence handling and many others. Site visit on Evidence Recovery Team (ERT) facility provided the participants new learning and skills on the latest technology and equipment on evidence handling and recovery. Some of the highlights include the visit to the Los Angeles Sheriff's department quake proof and highly secured facility which houses the tactical operations center which is indispensable during an emergency situation. The students also had the chance to visit the famous Los Angeles Police Department which included a sumptuous meal at LAPD Academy. The PSOSEC 71 is scheduled to graduate on the 1st week of September 2009.
