The joint training program of PPSC and AFP
    The joint training program of the PPSC Public Safety Officer Senior Executive Course and the AFP General Staff Course has been formally initiated with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the AFP Chief of Staff represented by PN Commo. Ramon P Espera Jr, and the President of the PPSC, Dr Margarita R Cojuangco at the Escarcha Hall, PPSC, Taguig City, on August 14, 2009. The Chief, PNP represented by Deputy Chief for Administration, PDDG Geary Barias and Chief Directorial Staff, PDDG Edgardo Acuna witnessed the momentous event.
PROJECT BRIEF
    This joint effort is consisted of eighty eight (88) hours of joint training period designed to allow the respective student officers of the police and the military to meet, work, and collaborate with each other. As part of the methods of instruction of the course, the students shall be exposed to various scenarios that will simulate the environment that they will be working together in the performance of their respective mandates. Through this program of instruction the commonality of the respective courses of the AFP and the PNP and other law enforcement agencies in addressing internal security operations (ISO) shall be strengthened and enhanced and it shall further intensify inter-agency coordination and test inter-operability on this matters of mutual concerns.

    Among the topics included are knowing the enemy, national internal security plan, civil military operations, AFP-PNP cooperation in ISO, emergencies and disasters, overview of the PNP organization, crime scene investigation and detection, criminal procedures, crisis management and anti illegal drugs operations.

    The initial batch of participants shall consist of 134 student officers of the AFP and 44 from the PNP. Classes will be held at the NPC Building at PPSC complex, Taguig City and at the Manipula Hall in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, to commence on September 18, 2009.
