Public Safety Crime Investigation and Detection Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Public Safety Crime Investigation and Detection Course (PSCRIDEC) is composed of academic and non-academic phases. The academic phase consists of seven(7) modules namely: General Knowledge, Law, Intelligence, Investigation and Detection Operations, Special Skills, Moot Court, Special Lectures and Practical Exercises.The non-academics phase includes activities like Drills and Ceremonies, Physical Fitness and Sports Development, Defensive Tactics, Moral Recovery Program/Values, Education and Educational Tour (Local or Foreign). OBJECTIVES:
The course is designed to provide students with proficiency in crime investigation and detection. It is crafted to keep the graduated of this course abreast with the most recent techniques in crime resolutions.The practical or hands-on learning is infused in the course to develop and enhance the skills of the students in scientific crime investigation and detection. Parallel to this, are the lectures that will equip the students with a working knowledge on criminal law, criminal procedures and other relevant topics. DURATION:
This course has a duration of five (5) months with a total of eight hundred (800) hours. Six hundred forty (640) hours 80% are allowed for the academic instructions and the remaining one hundred sixty(160) hours (20%) are alloted for the non-academic instructions.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The participants shall comply with the following requirements prior to admission to the course:
1. Must be atleast PO2 and at most P/Sr. Inspector or civilian employee with equivalent grade;
2. Must not be over forty five (45) years old; 3. Must be physically and mentally fit for training; 4. Must have passed the entrance written and oral examinations; 5. Must not have any pending criminal or administrative case; and 6. Must be recommended by their respective Head of Unit. |
