Public Safety Narcotics Investigation Detection Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Public Safety Narcotics Investigation Course (PSNIC) is a specialized technical course composed of eight (8) academic modules namely;General Knowledge, Law, Drugs and Precursor Chemicals Identification, Narcotics Operations and Investigation, Special Lectures, Practical Exercises, Moot Court and Special Skills.The non-academics phase includes activities like Drills and Ceremonies, Physical Fitness and Sports Development, Defensive Tactics, Moral Recovery Program/Values Education and Educational Tour. OBJECTIVES:
The course is designed to train and develop skilled investigators to respond to the critical and challenging problems that beset society on the drug menace both in the local and international community. After completion of the course, the students are expected to act discreetly in the enforcement of the law, specifically RA 9165 and conduct narcotics operations and investigation with candor and skills, thus, qualifying them as certified narcotics investigators.DURATION:
This course has a duration of five (5) months with a total of eight hundred (800) hours. Six hundred forty (640) hours 80% are allowed for the academic instructions and the remaining one hundred sixty(160) hours (20%) are alloted for the non-academic instructions.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The participants shall comply with the following requirements prior to admission to the course:
1. Must be atleast PO2 and at most P/Sr. Inspector or civilian employee with equivalent grade;
2. Must not be over forty five (45) years old; 3. Must be physically and mentally fit for training; 4. Must have passed the entrance written and oral examinations; 5. Must not have any pending criminal or administrative case; and 6. Must be recommended by their respective Head of Unit. |
