Public Safety Traffic Investigation Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
   The Public Safety Traffic Investigation and Course (PSTIC) is composed of academic and non-academic phases. The academic phase consists of eight (8) modules namely: General Knowledge, Law, Traffic Education, Engineering and Enforcement, Traffic Accident Investigation Proceedures and Operations, Special Lectures, Practical Exercises, Moot Court, and Special Skills.

   The non-academics phase includes activities like Drills and Ceremonies, Physical Fitness and Sports Development, Defensive Tactics, Moral Recovery Program and Educational Tour.

OBJECTIVES:
   The course is designed to provide students with proficiency in traffic investigation. It aims to develop and enhance the students to respond to critical and challenging traffic problems in the country and be knowledgeable of the procedures and technical aspect of traffic accident investigation, and likewise be able to forestall the conflicting legal interpretation of the traffic rules and regulations.

   Specifically, the course intends to mold public safety students in the field of investigation specializing on Patrol and Traffic Operations.

DURATION:
   This course has a duration of five (5) months with a total of eight hundred (800) hours. Six hundred forty (640) hours 80% are allowed for the academic instructions and the remaining one hundred sixty(160) hours (20%) are alloted for the non-academic instructions.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The participants shall comply with the following requirements prior to admission to the course:
1.   Must be atleast PO2 and at most P/Sr. Inspector or civilian employee with equivalent grade;
2.   Must not be over forty five (45) years old;
3.   Must be physically and mentally fit for training;
4.   Must have passed the entrance written and oral examinations;
5.   Must not have any pending criminal or administrative case; and
6.   Must be recommended by their respective Head of Unit.
